Checklists reduce surgical mistakes

Intervention · Public Health

Intervention Description

Individuals were drawn from local hospitals to participate in a medical simulation and pilot studies. Sugrical teams were placed in various crisis situations and their reactions compared against best practices. Some teams were given checklists. Those with checklists were much less likely to skip critical steps and missed fewer steps overall.
