Servicio Nacional del Consumidor (SERNAC / Consumer Authority), Superintendencia de Electricidad y Combustibles (SEC / Superintendent of Electricity), and Laboratorio de Gobierno (LabGob / National Laboratory Centre) conducted an experiment on behalf of the Chilean government. 800 electricity consumers were presented with differently designed utility bills in an effort to deal with complaints about complex electric bills. The surveys suggest bills should be simpler, provide information on energy savings, and deadlines, among other recommendations.
