Modifying forms to encourage thorough completion of paperwork

Intervention Description

In Denmark, starting some types of companies can require the submission of complicated paperwork. Unfortunately, the forms are often submitted incorrectly or incompletely leading to hours of extra work on the part of Danish Business Authority employees. In order to encourage proper submission of all required paperwork, submission forms were reconstructed with careful consideration for human behavior. Business owners were required to sign, after checking a box stating that all forms had been enclosed. Near the signature area was a line that warned about having to resubmit the paperwork should it be completed incorrectly. In addition, a phone number was offered in case of any questions on how to fill out the form properly.
