Goal-completion an effective motivational tool?

Intervention Description

Getting to the gym can be a challenging experience even for the most motivated person. Getting members to the gym can also be a frustrating experience for gyms. One gym has taken a creative new approach to motivating their members. Instead of paying one lump sum membership fee, members must set goals and pay a fee if they do not reach their goals. This model has been shown to be highly effective and, with an even newer model where members who reach their goals are rewarded, commitment goal completion rates have reached up to 90%.
