Intervention Description

Department for Business, Innovation and Skills tested the effectiveness of several nudges in motivating volunteers to complete SME (Small and Medium Enterprise) programme. Three nudges were tested: priming altruism, expressing gratitude, and messages about anticipated pride. The results of using these nudges in remainder emails found that priming altruism and anticipated pride messages had a significant effect on the proportion of participants who completed the programme.
