A little bit about us
The Decision Lab is a behavioral science consultancy dedicated to creating social good by helping individuals, organizations and governments make better decisions. With over 1,000,000 online engagements per year, 12,000 newsletter subscribers, and over 60 contributors and staff writers, our audience is composed of thought leaders from a variety of industries and functions. Through research, analysis, and product design, we help organizations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Capital One and the World Bank solve thorny problems and build impactful evidence-based digital products. We believe that democratizing the availability of and access to content that can be used by industry practitioners is a critical part of this mission because it equips researchers and practitioners with the tools to apply evidence-driven insights.

TDL was created with the vision of bridging the gap between behavioral science research and application. A core part of our mission is disseminating our ideas across various online platforms and ensuring that the right people see our message. Effective behavioral science interventions are often about getting the right people’s attention at the right time, which is a crucial part of this internship. The social media intern will communicate cutting-edge behavioral science content to our vast audience through various channels. Copywriting skills are necessary for translating cutting-edge scientific research into engaging, succinct, and lucid writing. An understanding of behavioral science is crucial to understanding our mission, and successfully conveying it to our audience.
About the role
- Fully remote, with flexible hours.
- 5-15 hrs/week for the remainder of the 2020/2021 academic year, with the possibility of extension.

With over 500,000 online engagements per year, 12,000 newsletter subscribers, and over 60 contributors and staff writers, TDL’s publication is looking for an experienced, energetic social media intern who is excited about communicating our content to a vast audience of experts, academics, and leaders in multiple fields. Baseline qualifications include:
- Native English speaker
- Academic and/or work experience within the domain of behavioral science, economics, psychology, philosophy, or other related fields
- Exceptional copywriting ability and communication skills
- Familiarity with behavioral economics concepts (biases, heuristics, frameworks)
- The ability to translate academic research in the field of behavioral science into clear and engaging content

We build evidence in-house through robust experimentation, and integrate our findings into a wider body of knowledge, coming from many people and many places.
