How text messages can help increase attendance

Intervention Description

UK's Department for Business, Innovation and Skills aimed to increase the attendance at adult literacy classes. A large field experiment was conducted utilizing encouraging text messages to students, saying things about how they could succeed and that what they learn is important. The results of this study saw a 7% increase in attendance for the people who were sent text messages.
